Lake Massabesic in Manchester and Auburn, NH is a source of drinking water for much of the city of Manchester. As such, it is heavily regulated. There is no swimming, jet skiing or other activities allowed that involve human contact with the water. The shore is largely undeveloped. The net result is a lake that is clean, beautiful and perfect for canoeing and kayaking. The lake is home to loons, herons and other wildlife. It is stocked with rainbow, brown and brook trout. The largemouth bass fishing is legendary. Anytime is a good time to paddle the lake, though a sunset paddle is highly recommended!
